When my buddy (3 yo) gets sick, it just makes me feel so helpless. I see his little nose running and the coughing breaks my heart.
What I really don't understand is why all the cold & flu medications are being taken off the shelf for children under the age of (6) six. I understand that doctors and pharmacies believe we as a society are over medicating, but saying these medications don't do anything is false (IMHO). I see how they make my son feel better. I don't over-medicate my son by any means, I only usually give him a dose of mess maximum 2 times per day and usually it's only once.
When my little guy can hardly move because he feels so miserable, and a little medication can let him enjoy his day for a couple hours or let him sleep for a couple hours, I really don't see the harm. Even my pharmacist says that he used & uses them on his kids often when they were sick & hurting.
Anyway, just venting, I guess.
It would be interesting to see how the other parents feel about this subject.
